The American Heart Association BLS Provider course trains professionals with clinical responsibilities to provide lifesaving interventions to victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest. This course covers CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants. This certification is required for most healthcare providers that work in patient care areas and for students enrolled in medical and nursing programs.

The Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) Provider Course is designed to train healthcare professionals to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for healthcare professionals and healthcare students with clinical responsibilities (see intended audience below).
BLS Providers meets the current ECC 2015 and the current American Heart Association standards for Healthcare Provider CPR and AED. It covers CPR and AED for Adults, Children, and Infants.
This course takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete.
Course Materials
An American Heart Association BLS Provider student manual and two-year BLS Provider certification card are included in this course.
Course Fee
$95 - Includes American Heart Association BLS Provider student workbook, and two-year BLS Provider certification card upon successful completion.
Examination
Proficient demonstration of skills and a score of 84% or higher on the written examination are required for certification. Students that do not achieve either of these will be remediated and allowed an additional attempt to test.
Certification
Successful completion of this course results in an American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification which is valid for 2 years from the date of the course.
Instructor Led Training
Traditional BLS Provider course. Course is delivered at a Code One Training Center by an instructor. Appropriate for initial certification and recertification.
